The Caen Villas Rally begins with a discovery walk on the Bagatelle hillside, a district that sprang up at the end of the 19th century. This was the Belle Époque, a period rich in progress and invention. City dwellers were looking for fresh air and modernity. In Caen, eclectic villas were built on the Bagatelle hillside, mixing colours, materials and inspirations. But why so much decoration? Who lived in these villas? And how did people live at the time?
Working in teams, you'll then set off in search of the architectural details hidden in the villas of the neighbourhood. For each detail, you'll also have to complete a photo challenge, without falling behind the other teams! We end the rally with a convivial moment in a peaceful and little-known place: the Quatre-Nations sleeping cemetery.
