Monumental ! The most popular animal in comics comes to Caen.
Caen is hosting an impressive exhibition of twenty monumental bronze sculptures in which "the Cat" of Philippe Gelucki, as usual, makes you laugh, questions and touches you with the profound subjects he tackles with lightness.
The statues will make up a three-stop tour of the city centre:
- marina, quai Vendeuvre
- place de la République
- in front of the town hall
Around the exhibition
- The Caen la Mer Tourist Office is organising guided tours (only in French) of Phillipe Geluck's sculptures. Along an itinerary starting from the Abbaye-aux-Hommes to the marina, passing through the Place de la République and the Hôtel d'Escoville, you will be able to discover the creative process of these works. It will also be an opportunity to learn about the history of art.
- An exhibition entitled "Caen le chat s'expose" (Caen the cat on show) is also on display in the scriptorium of the Hôtel de Ville, featuring Indian ink drawings, canvases, small-format paintings, monumental sculptures, silk-screen prints and numbered editions, as well as a number of video and sound works.
- The reception of the Caen la Mer Tourist Office (Caen office) and the Caen Town Hall have merchandise related to the exhibition and this funny and emblematic character.
