Playful, lively, engaging and joyful, Lily van der Stokker?s work takes as its subject not only the stereotypes associated with femininity, but also the economics of artistic creation and its everyday annoyances (domestic chores, health problems, money worries?). In this exhibition, a series of large-scale murals and painted pieces of furniture highlight these universal themes, as well as others that have traditionally been kept out of the realm of "serious" art, such as the decorative and emotional.
This exhibition is part of the Normandie Impressionniste festival.
