Exposition sensorielle Jardins dans tous les sens

In a playful way, the sensory exhibition "Gardens in all senses" invites you to approach the gardens through our 5 senses. This summer exhibition is intended to be a convivial moment accessible to all audiences, from a very young age.
With the increased awareness of the climate emergency and our impact on the environment, the garden takes on a new meaning today. The need to take care of the earth and to safeguard endangered species is more than obvious. There, within our reach, the garden is a controlled natural environment, on the border of the wild and the domestic. Through a sensory approach, the exhibition invites you to awaken sight, touch, smell, hearing and taste, to discover the countless riches of our gardens.
What kinds of tastes, scents, sounds, textures, shapes and colors exist, hide and reveal themselves under our windows, at our doorsteps, around us? The exhibition highlights how the fauna and flora of gardens appeal to our senses. With references, scientific information and anecdotes, it gives the keys to understand and better feel our natural spaces. And to illustrate each of the 5 senses, the exhibition unveils photos of remarkable gardens of inspiration in Calvados.
A sensory exhibition proposed by the CAUE du Calvados, presented at the Pavilion from Wednesday June 22 to Sunday August 21.

The exhibition extends the work done by the CAUE du Calvados in connection with the book "Jardins d'inspiration dans le Calvados, conseils pour penser son jardin". This book is the result of two years of meticulous work of visits, meetings, exchanges and creative and structured synthesis, around the gardens of Calvados. This book, designed for the general public, offers relevant technical and practical advice to help us garden, think well and design our gardens, whatever they may be.
