Discover the Caen racecourse through its history, its major events and its backstage.
Your guide will explain how one of the oldest racecourses in France works and the major horse events that make up its calendar of 28 annual meetings.
In addition to its racing program, La Prairie Racecourse is also used to qualify future racehorses thanks to its quality track. Head to the stables to discover how all horses are checked upon arrival (identity, vaccinations, etc.) and all the equipment used for the race. A focus will then be made on the profile of the Caen racetrack, as well as on its use and maintenance. The visit will end in the weighing room where the jockeys are weighed before and after each race. This is also the place where the horses' entourage is notified of their control in the framework of the fight against doping. When you return to the hall, you will be introduced to horse betting by a specialist who will accompany your first bet.
The racetrack restaurant is open on race days, so you can continue your discovery there.
Unaccompanied minors are not allowed during this service. The parking of the racecourse is not free on race days, so you can pay your access fee directly when you make your reservation. Discovery offered by the Caen racecourse, marketed by the Caen la Mer Tourist Office.
