On 1 May 1994, Ayrton Senna’s fatal accident came as a shock to the Formula 1 world. Cameras from around the world were trained on the Grand Prix circuit where the race was taking place – the very race that would cost the 31-year-old three-time World Champion his life. At the helm of the company Stadios, Juliette Fribourg and Mathilde Wind create sports-themed shows in which the female perspective takes centre stage. With *Virage*, Juliette Fribourg teams up with the young author Shane Haddad to imagine the shattered fate of a female driver who dies in the prime of her life at the wheel of her car. Fascination with death, environmental denial, sensationalism, performance and a taste for risk: this theatrical fiction, structured as a journalistic investigation, examines the entire mythology surrounding this event.
Running time: 1 hour 30 minutes. Written by Juliette Fribourg and Shane Haddad, directed by Juliette Fribourg, starring Arthur Chrisp, Louise Herrero, Antoine de Foucauld and Mathilde Wind.
