Exhibition – Yann Kebbi’s Artist-in-Residence Programme

Yann Kebbi: “I quite like the train; you have time to look around, because my love is there, hidden away”
The Musée des Beaux-Arts is bringing its 2026 artist-in-residence programme to a close with an invitation to the visual artist and illustrator Yann Kebbi.
Born in Paris in 1987, a graduate of the École Estienne and the École nationale supérieure des Arts décoratifs de Paris, Yann Kebbi collaborates with numerous international media outlets (The New Yorker, The Guardian, Le Monde, Télérama, La Revue dessinée…) whilst pursuing publishing projects and a multidisciplinary visual art practice encompassing drawing, pastels and printmaking.
Since 2021, the artist has been working with the Fondation Cartier, notably documenting the foundation’s relocation through a series of illustrated reports. In 2022, he took part in the Milan Triennale, as part of the ‘Mondo Reale’ exhibition, for which he created a monumental work. In 2025, he was awarded the first Cauvin-Monet Prize by the Académie des Beaux-Arts.
The exhibition *J’aime bien le train, on a le temps de regarder, car mon amour se trouve là, caché* presents a series of works on paper (monotypes and ink drawings), published in 2025 in the book of the same name.
This is accompanied by previously unseen works: a series of pastel landscapes, as well as four monotypes on monumental sheets of paper created especially for Caen, inviting the sky into the heart of the museum’s atrium. A very large-scale drawing, depicting a mise en abyme of the exhibition and the works on display, complements the artist’s reflections, which began with the ‘Fondation Kebbi’ project (2019), which featured imaginary museum visits.
