Immersive show – A journey through 1,000 years of Caen’s history

In the Chessboard Room at Caen Castle, a place steeped in the history of the Dukes of Normandy, who were also kings of England, discover the story of the city’s 1,000-year history through a spectacular, immersive experience that transports you into a world of images weaving together the history of Caen from 1025 to 2025.

From 1 March 2026

-Tuesday to Sunday for the rest of the year
-open on Easter Monday and Whit Monday

Closed on 4 April, 1 May, 21 June, 14 July, 1 November and 25 December.


Opening times

- in July and August: 11.00–17.00 daily
-the rest of the year: 11.00–17.00 on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays open to the public / 14.00–17.00 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays

Duration of the screening: 20 minutes. Suitable for all ages from 8 years old. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
