Nous debouts brings together three internationally renowned musicians in a project to set poetic texts from the French-speaking world to music. Ray Lema (Franco-Congolese pianist), Khalifa Belouzaa (Franco-Algerian singer-songwriter) and Nesta Mondélice (Franco-Guadeloupean drummer-percussionist), under the artistic direction of Aurelia Buquet (Javotte Production), create a journey between jazz, reggae, Congolese rumba and traditional music.
The show interweaves great universal texts and personal life stories, celebrating resilience, plural identity and the power of art as a vector of transmission. The texts set to music? Gilbert Gratiant (Martinique), Antoine Tshitungu Kongolo (Congo), Zineb Labidi (Algeria), PEF (Pierre Elie Ferrier - author Prince Motordu) (France), Jean-Baptiste Tati-Loutard (Congo)? address universal themes: identity, memory, social condition, love and writing as an act of resistance. These poetic voices resonate with the backgrounds of the three musicians, creating echoes between words and notes, between past and present.
