This year, to mark the Normandy Impressionist Festival, the Caen Museum of Fine Arts is hosting two artists in residence: Caroline Bouyer and Lise Duclaux.
Caroline Bouyer has been invited to explore the museum’s collections of engravings. Drawing lies at the heart of her work, in constant dialogue with engraving, to create urban, natural or dreamlike landscapes that explore the nature of memory.
Living things form the raw material of Lise Duclaux’s work. Fascinated by the plant world and its ‘spontaneity that eludes us’, she explores its intelligence, adaptability and capacity for regeneration through various media.
