Transition to the Destination d’Excellence label
The Tourist and Convention Office is now embarking on an ambitious new phase: obtaining the new Destination d’Excellence label, which replaces the Qualité Tourisme label.
This transition is part of our ongoing commitment to quality, recognised for the quality of our welcome, our services and the support we offer our visitors. The Destination d’Excellence label reinforces these commitments by incorporating even more demanding criteria in terms of sustainable development, accessibility, innovation and promotion of our region.
Through this approach, we are affirming our desire to offer an ever more qualitative, responsible and authentic experience for the benefit of our visitors, our partners and all local stakeholders.
Our main goal is to guarantee a professional welcome and promote all the quality services offered in our territory. In this way, Caen la mer – Normandy tourist office and convention center is commited to :
- Listening to our customers to facilitate their stay and give them our tips and personalized advises for some successful holidays,
- Providing with appropriate documents and information, updated and reliables,
- Considering remarks and suggestions in order to improve our quality of service,
- Providing to our customers a general and continuous information through our website and our interactive terminals,
- Offering appropriate services to the requests : guided tours, ticketing, reservation center…
- Showcasing the local expertise through our shops.
1st catégory classification
EIn addition to the Qualité TourismeTM brand, Caen la mer tourist office and convention center is classified since January 2016, 1st category, the excellence level of the national classification !
Cyclists welcome
The label « Accueil Vélo » has been obtained in 2015 for Caen and Ouistreham Riva-Bella offices : welcoming the cyclists and giving appropriate advises (bicycle paths, green lanes, bicycle rentals, reparation kit, accomodation…)
Tourism & Handicap
Ouistreham Riva Bella office has been labeled with the « Tourisme et handicap » label since 2013 for the four different handicaps : motor disability, visual, hearing and mental.

For several years now, the Tourist Office has been committed to sustainable and responsible tourism. After obtaining the Green Destinations label in 2024 and 2026, we drew up a strategy and CSR commitments.
