The D-Day Wings Museum focuses on the airborne aspects of the D-Day Landings during the Second World War. It is a historic site for two reasons: it is located within the former Luftwaffe hangars at the Carpiquet airbase that served as an attack base during the Battle of Britain in 1940-41 and, although one of the D-Day targets, it was only liberated by the Canadians in July 1944 during a vast battle against the 12th Panzer SS Division: operation Windsor. Guided tours in groups of up to 15 with a chronological account of the events on D-Day and aerial operations.
