No trip to Normandy would be complete without visiting the Caen Memorial a stone's throw from the D-Day beaches. From the origins of the Second World War to the end of the Cold War, the museum depicts the terrible history of the 20th century. The Memorial's new temporary exhibition opens on May 7th 2025: Varian Fry, les chemins de l’exil. Meet Varian Fry, an extraordinary young American journalist who was sent to Marseille in 1940 by the Emergency Rescue Committee to help anti-Nazi artists and intellectuals escape fascist persecution.
