We're here in a grand spectacle film, without the gigantism of the sets, without the grandiloquent music, without the hundreds of extras. The stage and cast are minimalist: a chair, a hoop and an actor. And yet, David Jonquières takes us on a veritable saga that's carried off at breakneck speed. He has single-handedly made his own war film, a kid?s dream of playing soldiers straight out of a Tex Avery cartoon.
