From Place Royale to Place de la République, four centuries of Caen history (1575-1975)" exhibition
In 2021, the Calvados archaeology department excavated the ruins of Caen?s former town hall, then located on Place de la République, which had been destroyed by bombing in the summer of 1944. Based on the results of this excavation, the exhibition invites you to discover the metamorphoses of this Caen district over time.
