Taking place over two days (June 8 and 9, 2024), the aim of the project is to get the heart of Caen, the martyred city, beating, as part of the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the Liberation.
A variety of events will take place over the two days, some of them sedentary, such as an open-air cinema, a guinguette and a popular ball, and a vintage market, while others will be itinerant, including strolling jazz concerts and a parade of 1940s vehicles.
Shopkeepers will also be involved: a "D-D Week" window-shopping competition will be held, and the shopkeepers themselves will be dressed in 1940s attire.
