Big night / Eric Rohmer

An Éric Rohmer evening with a screening of Rohmer, esprit d'enfance, written and directed by Pascale Bouhénic and Noël Herpe (60 minutes)
Everything leads to love in Éric Rohmer's cinema. Chamber theatre and the cinema of the spoken word, the intimate is put on show through language: we discuss Blaise Pascal in a garden, we dance the night away at the Bains-Douches, we explain ourselves to the rhythm of the tides on the beach. From film to film, a vast Comédie humaine takes shape like a carte du Tendre. Pascale Bouhénic and Noël Herpe have written and directed a remarkable, critically acclaimed film using rare archive footage, previously unseen film clips and footage of his youth discovered in the archives. Biography? More than that, Rohmer, esprit d'enfance is the sensitive novel of a man who was passionately secretive, and who both exposed and concealed himself in his work. Fiction is always a self-portrait.
In the presence of Thomas Clerc, curator of the exhibition Autoportrait.
Pascale Bouhénic and Noël Herpe will present the film.
