A symphonic evening of USA and pop culture

The Dallas Asian American Youth Orchestra in a special concert with the Orchestre d'Harmonie Universitaire de Caen

A great orchestral evening combining tradition and modernity

The prestigious Dallas Asian American Youth Orchestra (DAAYO) will soon be performing in Caen for an exceptional musical evening of cultural sharing and orchestral discovery. As the main orchestra for this event, the DAAYO will bring together talented young American musicians from Texas to perform a programme combining great symphonic works, contemporary music and international influences. Renowned for its artistic excellence and cultural openness, the ensemble will offer audiences an immersive musical experience driven by the energy and sensitivity of a new generation of musicians.

An original first part based on symphonic pop culture

The concert opens with the Orchestre d'Harmonie Universitaire de Caen, made up of musicians from the Orchestre Symphonique Région Centre-Val de Loire/Tours. Conducted by Thibaut Blet, the ensemble will perform a programme inspired by the world of pop culture and video game music, including works from Joe Hisaishi's Celeste, Banjo-Kazooie and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. This first part, both spectacular and accessible, will create an original dialogue between contemporary symphonic music, the cinematic imagination and popular culture.

An international musical encounter accessible to all

Founded in 1998, DAAYO has been supporting young musicians for more than twenty-five years through top-level orchestral teaching, international tours and a strong desire to promote dialogue between Western and Asian musical cultures. This exceptional evening promises a unique encounter between young international talent and French musicians, in a friendly and inspiring atmosphere open to all audiences.
