Bus in Caen

The tram network comprises three lines – T1, T2 and T3 – connecting 37 stations:

🚊 T1: HEROUVILLE • Saint-Clair > IFS • Jean Vilar

🚊 T2: CAEN • Campus 2 > CAEN • Presqu’île

🚊 T3: CAEN • Château-Quatrans > FLEURY • Hauts de l’Orne

  • Line 12 connects Caen to the coast with daily services from Caen to Ouistreham, Colleville-Montgomery, Hermanville-sur-mer and Lion-sur-mer.
  • Line 22 connects Caen to the coast from Monday to Saturday, serving Hermanville-sur-mer and Lion-sur-mer.
  • Line 2 connects the city centre to the Caen Memorial and circular line 6 from the SNCF railway station.
  • In addition to the bus network, a free electric shuttle bus runs to the city centre every 15 minutes, Monday to Saturday, between 7.30 am and 8 pm. Wave to the driver to get on board (in pedestrian zones only)! To track the shuttle’s location in real time, download the Twisto app

Nomad Car 14

The Normandy bus network to facilitate your mobility.

A summer coach service

From 6 July to 31 August 2025, summer route 125 of the NOMAD Car network will run from Grandcamp-Maisy to Courseulles-sur-Mer, serving various tourist stops (beaches, accommodation, places to visit, local produce shop, etc.) every day at regular times. It is connected to Bayeux by lines 120 and 121 and to Caen by line 101. You can take your bike with you, subject to conditions. Tickets can be purchased from Tourist Offices, at Caen bus station, on board the bus or via the free Atoumod M-Ticket app.

Parking

Park and ride car parks in Caen

Located within 15 minutes of the centre, they each offer dedicated bus services right to the heart of the city. They are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you have a valid Twisto ticket, you can park your vehicle in one of the controlled-access Park and Ride car parks or in one of the free-access car parks.

  • CAEN Côte de Nacre car park (150 spaces)
    • Boulevard Becquerel in Caen. For the city centre, take: line T2 towards CAEN presqu’île.
  • IFS Jean Vilar car park (79 spaces)
    • Avenue Jean Vilar, next to the IFS Jean Vilar tram station, in Ifs. For the city centre, take: line T1 towards HÉROUVILLE St-Clair.
  • Pompidou car park
    • Boulevard Pompidou in Caen. For the city centre : bus line 2

Free car park

Free car park in Caen from 7pm to 9.30am the day after, also on Sundays and holidays. On Saturdays, 1h hour of free parking.

Free car park in Caen on saturdays from 9am to 7pm in the Hôtel de ville et Guillouard parking lots.

Free car park or “blue zone” in Ouistreham, except Alfred Thomas square (Casino), the seafront et De Gaulle square (port).

Free car park for the beaches  of Lion-sur-mer, Hermanville-sur-mer and Colleville-Montgomery.

Charging stations for electrical vehicles

It is possible to recharge your electric vehicles thanks to the many charging stations available in Caen la mer:

  • The MobiSDEC public charging stations are accessible to subscribers and itinerants. Occasional users can charge their vehicle by credit card or QR code. Two vehicles can be charged simultaneously on a single station. More information on the operation of the terminals is available on mobisdec.fr.
  • Some members of the Caen la Mer Tourist Office and Convention Bureau also offer their customers the opportunity to charge their electric vehicles. The conditions of use are specific to each member.

Waze

Twisto has teamed up with the famous GPS navigation application Waze to guide you on your way to Caen la mer. In addition to the usual guidance information, the roads blocked during the streetcar works will be integrated into the application.

By bike

Géovélo

The Géovélo application helps you find the most suitable routes for cycling through Caen la mer. The site adapts to your profile and prioritizes bike paths, bike lanes and low-traffic streets. Available on Android and IOS and on the website geovelo.fr.

Rent a bike

Vélolib by Twisto offers you self-service shared electric bikes, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can pick up a bike at one station and drop it off at another. Download the app Twisto Vélolib, register your credit cart and pay 1€/hour.
Véloloc by Twisto allows you to rent bikes for a long period of time.

Bike parking

The underground parking lots in downtown Caen offer 82 parking spaces and 6 inflation stations for cyclists. In addition, 8 bicycle shelters are available (Courtonne, Saint-Jean, Gare SNCF, Stade nautique, Chemin vert, Rive droite, Presqu’île, Conservatoire) as well as 4 secure Vélopark Twisto shelters (Théâtre, Gare, Quatrans et Fossés Saint-Julien).
