Hunted for their fur, harbour seals had completely disappeared from the Normandy coast since the 1930s. Now classified as a protected species, they are back in Normandy under the watchful eye of teams and volunteers from the Normandy Mammalogy Group (GMN).
Marie Francou, who is in charge of the "Marine Mammals" project for the naturalist association, will be at the Dôme on 13 June 2026, from 2 to 4 pm, to present the participatory actions that have been put in place to preserve the peace and quiet of these mammals and encourage them to live together with the inhabitants and tourists of Normandy's coasts.
