Following on from her extensive work on the notion of memory, Dalila Boitaud-Mazaudier meets Marceline Loridan-Ivens, author and Holocaust survivor. They meet often, in Marceline?s apartment, and talk about her history, current events, transmission, teaching and anti-Semitism. They talk about eyewitness accounts, exchange books on the subject. They often share a glass of good wine.
Dalila Boitaud-Mazaudier records these exchanges (almost) every time. When Marceline died in 2018, Dalila wanted these conversations to continue, because of course not everything had been said.
She is also aware of the treasure collected during all those secret hours, and decides to share this precious story, which is as intimate as it is universal. Just as these moments were simple and profound, the theater must find this resonance, and invite the listener into this suspension.
