Show “The exponential growth of small mistakes” | TURFU Festival

Free, registration required. How can a group of different backgrounds, ages, bodies and sensibilities create a common trajectory without erasing everyone's individuality?
That's what this art-science encounter between professional and amateur dancers is all about.

This presentation of the work in progress on the choreographic piece La croissance exponentielle des petites erreurs (The Exponential Growth of Small Errors) by Ashley Chen, Kashyl company, in collaboration with Christophe Letellier, chaotician physicist and lecturer at the University of Rouen, brings together on stage professional dancers and amateur dancers from the region to explore the issue of Chaos theory.

The piece is based on two fundamental principles: fluid collective movement and the unpredictability of that movement. The diversity of the group of dancers becomes the raw material of the show. It reveals the dynamic of care, empathy and permanent adjustment that emerges when multiple people try to build a common movement. It also makes visible what chaos theory implies socially: small individual variations transform the whole, creating an organisation that is alive, moving, unpredictable, but profoundly human.

After the performance, a discussion with the team will extend the experience.
