To celebrate its 80th anniversary, a multinational luxury goods company is organising a lavish gala evening for all the ultra-rich in the northern hemisphere. The company has given a renowned artist carte blanche to design a jungle-themed evening – intended, in his view, to reconnect the guests with nature. Whilst preparations are still underway, the CEO announces to his circle of privileged guests that his niece will succeed him, to the detriment of his faithful and loyal right-hand woman: Eva Pritsky. She then attempts to regain power by orchestrating her boss’s death, but as one disaster follows another, her dreams of glory turn into a nightmare, and the setting – which seemed artificial – gradually turns against the protagonists… Alyssa Tzavaras uses satire to highlight our most absurd behaviours and invokes climate change to burst the bubble in which this world, disconnected from reality, revels. Very loosely based on Shakespeare’s *Macbeth*, this baroque fable explores the monstrosity of power.
A production created as part of OUEST, the Normandy International Centre for Production and Distribution.
Conceived and directed by Alyssa Tzavaras, with Marie Bos, Lucie Guien, Thierry Hellin, Adrien Laurent and Anthony Ruotte
