As part of the "Plein les yeux!" programme, a weekend specially dedicated to families at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Caen and Musée des Normandie, a dance impromptu to discover the museum from a different perspective!
Inspired by works in the museum, Nos mains is an invitation to wander from one room to another, from one painting to another, from one marble sculpture to another in bronze, all with hands large and small, of different colours and sizes, with smooth or wrinkled skin. What do they tell us? Hands speak and have their own expressions. As an extension of the body, a hand can take on many forms, play with space,
What movements have these gestures of hands suspended in the space of the painting come from? And what other movements might they have pursued? How can we, in turn, take hold of their gestures, precede them, extend them to create a dance that we can share and experience together?
An invitation to discover and look at what we don't see, or don't see much of, in paintings or sculptures: hands.
