With nearly 300 concerts to its credit, this chamber music ensemble was born in 1998 from the meeting of four saxophonists from the Hauts-de-France region.
Contraste has won several chamber music competitions in France, Belgium and England.
Since its creation, the ensemble has taken part in numerous European festivals, offering a rich and varied repertoire combining original and contemporary works, transcriptions and popular music.
For many years, Contraste has been recognized by the Conseil Départemental du Nord/Pas-de-Calais, and has consistently promoted classical music in the region, thanks to the finesse and quality of its interpretations.
Today, the ensemble?s four saxophonists are recognized in the cultural landscape as soloists, and have also become pedagogues, aware of the importance of passing on musical heritage.
Through quartet concerts, school performances, collaborations with wind bands and master-classes, Contraste aims to appeal to all audiences, offering accessible and captivating programs that everyone can fully embrace.
