The Maison du Roman Populaire d?Amavada (MRP) awards the Prix Poussière, the first literary prize for forgotten books! There's no reason why literary prizes should only be awarded to new releases, to living authors, or even to books for sale! Many works have slipped through the cracks because they don't fit into the esteemed canon. Among the books that have gathered dust, there are many nuggets to which we should turn our attention. With the Prix Poussière, the Maison du roman populaire goes in search of these pearls, and singles out the gleaming ones.
Finalists for the Prix Poussière 2026 are Le Mouron rouge, by Baronne Orczy, Le Secret de la Mer morte, by Elizabeth Peters, La Nef des dingues, by Jean Amila, Saucisses et viande froide, by York Smith, and Les Rôdeurs de frontière, by Gustave Aimard.
After a spectacular presentation of these five books, the audience will vote for the winner: the forgotten book that most appeals to them, to be awarded the Prix Poussière 2026.
This event will take place at the Alexis de Tocqueville library in Caen
