Performance: HAÏKU(S) — A sketch of a stammering thought

What if stammering weren’t a flaw, but simply another way of speaking?
On 18 December, Le Sillon (Chemin Vert neighbourhood) hosts HAÏKU(S) — L’esquisse d’une pensée bègue, a deeply moving solo performance that blends juggling, dance and poetry to explore stammering from the inside.
Paul-Emmanuel Chevalley pulls no punches: the shame, the fear of speaking, the urge to remain silent — but also the humour and tenderness of learning to live with one’s own voice.
This show speaks to us all. Because we have all, at some point, struggled to find the words to express how we feel — and when we fail, it is our mental health that suffers.
Open to everyone: people who stammer, families, professionals, those simply curious, and anyone concerned about issues of mental health and invisible disabilities.
Organised by the Association Parole Bégaiement and Bégaiement Entraide Générale Caen.

What if we had to stammer to finally speak the truth?
A man alone on stage. Words that slip away, clubs that fly, a body searching for its sentence. Paul-Emmanuel Chevalley conveys his stammer with sincerity, tenderness and humour — and through it, the fragility of any stifled speech.
A universal show about our vital need to express what we feel, when mental health is also at stake in what we cannot bring ourselves to say.
