Pain Magazine is a new musical project born of the encounter between post-hardcore band Birds in Row and techno duo Maelstrom & Louisahhh. Each from very different musical scenes but sharing common values of DIY, authenticity and protest, they merge their worlds in an album born almost by accident, written in just 16 days.
The first track, "Violent God", embodies this collision of sound: abrasive guitars, precise electronic textures and Louisahhh?s heart-rending vocals. The track questions faith, power and violence, in a constant tension between intimacy and politics.
With Pain Magazine, these artists create a hybrid, radical and poetic entity... a project both raw and thoughtful, which has only just begun.

CODEX ANIMA
The ghostly voice of CODEX ANIMA rises through heavy hymns, chanting the prophecies of the manuscript of souls and casting curses.
The sinister atmospheres of this epic are interpreted by failing machines with cold clamors and unstable pulsations - the influences of Rezz's dark drops, Flume's glitchy textures and Amon Tobin's enigmatic sound design can all be heard.
Their EP "?" is the first beacon on this journey through chaos and perdition, the musical palindrome behind CODEX ANIMA's work.
