Our beds are burning” workshop | TURFU Festival

Free, registration required. It's 28 July 2050 in Caen, France. It's over 35°C in the middle of the night in your home and you can't sleep because of the heat. You say to yourself "It'll just be a bad night's sleep, it's no big deal".

But unfortunately, nights like this follow one another throughout the summer, and the risk to your health is mounting. It seems essential to break this negative link between heat and sleep, and preserve our health.

Come and share your feelings about these hot nights, your tips and tricks for combating the heat at home, and understand the impact of heat, particularly due to global warming, on the quality of your sleep.

Join Paquito Bernard and Alan Le Calloch, a researcher and doctoral student working for the Rennes-based Institut de recherche en santé, environnement, travail, for a workshop on sharing, raising awareness and making DIY solutions to help you sleep better this summer. In their team (Ci²tés), they are looking at the repercussions of climate change on health, taking into account the notions of territories, inequalities and ecosystems. They are currently involved in the CoolSleep research project, which is looking at the interactions between sleep and heat in the homes of people living in low-income housing estates.
