HORS LES MURS: At the Pierre Heuzé - Le Festival des cultures in partnership with Secours populaire français / fédération du Calvados & the Cité éducative de Caen. With financial support from DRAC Normandie.
Amavada has been involved in the cultural life of the Pierre-Heuzé neighbourhood for many years, responding to commissions from the CAF Socio-cultural Centre and Senghor primary school. Recently, our association got involved in the Festival of Cultures initiated by the CAF, which is continuing this year in the form of a week of festivities.
At the end of the day on Friday 19 June, it will be the grand finale of this great celebration. And we'll all be going to the PH to experience a major cultural event involving as many residents as possible, as well as seeing and hearing the neighbourhood tell its own story through poems, music, sketches and a whole range of other ways of experiencing the event.
The programme includes a mini-play by Nicolas SOREL performed by Lechanteur secondary school pupils, a concert by the Ensemble en musique inter-generational choir, musical readings of texts written by local residents, a skit performed by the Résidence Troisième âge workshop and many other surprises. All of this will be integrated into the story of Nonna, an imaginary character who is the doyenne of the neighbourhood, who knows everything and everyone, and whom everyone knows. Thanks to this fantastic character and the bonds created by her presence and beneficial influence, we'll be glorifying the richness of living together, listening and sharing.
Dare to be Pierre-Heuzé!
