The Caen Conservatoire & Orchestra organises mini-concerts, tailored for young listeners, which take young and old alike on a journey of discovery through the world of music.
Following the recording of the album *Birth of the Cool* (1949), Miles Davis pioneered the ‘West Coast Jazz’ style, championed by the band’s Los Angeles-based musicians who placed great emphasis on the instruments, where written music and the freedom of improvisation coexist harmoniously.
During this concert, you’ll hear covers of pieces originally recorded by Stan Getz, Gerry Mulligan and Bob Brookmeyer.
