A book opens with a story: a house on the edge of the forest, waking up one morning. From this story a mischievous little girl escapes. She sets off on an adventure in the heart of winter, to observe nature as it slumbers: life in slow motion, a seed growing, a nest filling up. She also meets a family of bears as they emerge from their shelter. Spring is just around the corner, and with it, everything changes.
