Fossiles, coquillages et l’évolution des espèces

At low tide, the beach at Lion-sur-Mer on the Falaises des Confessionnaux is a treasure trove of Jurassic fossils and modern-day shellfish. Despite being 167 million years apart, these animals have both similarities and differences. How is this possible? And why? This animation for young audiences offers a playful study of fossils and shells by children. Geologist Yohann Poprawski will use the various specimens discovered to name the major families of living creatures, observing their differences and similarities to arrive at a classification of living things, illustrating the principles of the evolution of species.
