3pm: Listening to the audio documentary "Avancer à reculons" (2022, 22'56) by Céline Grillon.
Dancers walking, an era on the move, a tango over the city? Avancer à reculons" takes us on a journey to meet women struggling with sexism and gender relations in the world of Argentine tango in France.
3.30pm: Round table discussion on gender relations and sexist and sexual violence in dance and music (subject to confirmation of speakers).
4.00-5.15pm: Introduction to double-role Argentine tango with dancer Elsa Deslandes.
Double-role tango breaks away from the "man leads, woman follows" pattern. Here, you'll be introduced to tango in both dance roles. So you can choose what inspires you most, regardless of gender conventions.
