Diving into the heart of forensic medicine with Bertille Suzat.
Bertille Suzat, a forensic pathologist, will be sharing her career and daily routine in a Curiosity talk. At the age of 38, she is head of the medico-judicial unit at Cherbourg hospital and works with the forensic medicine institute at Caen university hospital.
Her job, at the crossroads of medicine and justice, involves working alongside the police, gendarmerie and magistrates to uncover the truth. She works both with the deceased, as part of judicial investigations, and with the living - victims of violence or people in police custody.
Since 2021, it has been possible for victims to be received without first going through the legal system, opening up more direct access to recognition of the violence and to justice.
This talk offers a convivial moment of exchange, around a tasting of local products, with a woman with an inspiring journey in a unique place.
