This two-part evening brings this year’s series of concerts to a close.
First up is the solo project by Thibault Renou, alias Tibre. A jazz double bassist who can be heard leading the 3Fois7 big band or playing in the Broadway Paradox trio, he has always run parallel projects blending acoustic and electronic music. We recall the Bibendum Orchestra with Fakear and the sublime Archipel Invisible in 2023. Thibault Renou is now continuing these experiments as a solo artist. His new project ventures even further into ambient and drone territory, where the double bass takes centre stage within an electro-acoustic setup, drawing as much from improvised music as from jazz, contemporary music and electronica. Here, Tibre delivers a poetic and ethereal instrumental performance that will be enhanced by a specially designed yurt installation. Lie back, close your eyes – Tibre will take care of the rest!

The second part will feature Lyra, a magnificent duo comprising tenor saxophonist Mathieu Bellon and guitarist Léo Zerbib, two highly active pillars of the current Normandy jazz scene. This duo presents intimate, dreamlike original compositions that invite contemplation, introspection and reverie. The result is an aesthetic centred on melody, bold rhythmic developments, and a warm, impressionistic harmony. The saxophone and guitar lines intertwine and respond to one another in a constantly evolving dialogue. An ode to sound, to the moment, a different relationship with time, an uncertain yet serene journey – Lyra is all of these things at once. There’s nothing to do but dive in.
