Moored in Caen harbour, the three-masted schooner Le Français is exceptionally opening her decks to visitors. The public is invited to discover this exceptional sailing vessel on Wednesday 4 and Wednesday 11 February, from 2pm to 6pm, for a unique immersion in the world of traditional sailing.
With its elegant silhouette and large sails, Le Français is an instant eye-catcher. A former workboat, it has passed through different eras before becoming a true witness to our maritime heritage. Today, it embodies the spirit of the great adventures at sea and the know-how of the sailors of yesteryear.
A symbol of travel and exploration, the yacht owes its name to a famous polar vessel and now sails under the French flag. Its authenticity and unusual character have even earned it a place in a number of film productions.
