For its 25th Festival Autour de l'orgue, the association Les Amis de l'orgue de Lion sur mer is organising a musical season rich in artistic emotion with a series of 3 concerts.
The organ recital by Marseilles-based concert performer Jean-Pierre Rolland is cleverly concocted to reveal the 1001 flavours of the organ; a programme full of surprises and discoveries ranging from the 17th century Baroque to the many facets of the 20th century.
Jean-Pierre Rolland, organist, improvisation specialist and teacher, teaches organ and continuo at the Conservatoire Darius Milhaud in Aix-en-Provence. He studied music at the Conservatoire national de région de Marseille and then at the Conservatoire national royal de musique de Liège.
He is involved in heritage conservation and enhancement, and was technical adviser responsible for overseeing the upkeep of the Douai organs.
His activity as a concert performer has enabled him to promote encounters between the organ and other instruments and to visit a large repertoire, while at the same time taking an interest in new works.
Free admission.
