Resisting symbolic violence in the museum’s paintings with Zaza Explore
Works of art tell us stories of their era, through depictions of their time.
What seemed normal yesterday may be perceived differently today. To foster a contemporary perspective on these narratives, the museum is partnering with Zaza Explore for the third year running. Together, we will analyse the paintings from the perspective of symbolic violence directed at minorities. Together, we formulate individual and collective responses to these situations, thereby experimenting with practical techniques of physical and symbolic self-defence.
