Writing course, passing on the family history

Our association, Des mots dans l'herbe, is organising writing courses this summer in Louvigny, near Caen. They are aimed at people who want to write a story about their family history.

By placing the story in its social, economic, political and technical context, the aim is to bring the characters back to life by evoking the ideas, feelings and emotions they may have felt or expressed at the time.

We will also zoom in on the family home(s), the dishes that made the reputation of this or that person, the colloquial language, and so on.

We won't forget to paint a portrait of some of the family's most important figures, and to mention any major or minor rifts or affinities, so as to bring out the different facets of how the family works. The full programme is spread over two weeks.
