A quintet of woodwind instruments, harmonised voices, tapped skins and shaken seeds, CÓMO NO sounds the groove of a music where accents, sensitivity and energy take you on a journey across the Atlantic to a reinvented Latin America. Gathered around Isabelle Balcells, an Iberian by blood and by heart, four musicians who have been friends for many years agree in exclaiming with her: ¡ CÓMO NO! The Spanish expression, which means both "of course" and "why not", is thrown down like a challenge: to offer new Latin sounds where the African kora rubs shoulders with the Venezuelan cuatro. Isabelle's melodies and lyrics, infused with her dual culture, give pride of place to chorus-style refrains that sing of freedom, tolerance, equality and, of course, love.
