Workshop “A plate of Biodiversity” | Turfu Festival

Free, registration required. The aim of this workshop is to enable participants to gain a better understanding of the concept of biodiversity-friendly food systems, while sharing their expectations and representations on this theme. Based on the contributions received, possible research questions and hypotheses concerning the role of citizens will be developed as part of the DIVINFOOD research programme. The work carried out is intended to feed into the proposals to be submitted to the European Parliament in 2027.

The European DIVINFOOD project (funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme) aims to develop food chains that make the most of under-utilised biodiversity, in order to combat the decline in biodiversity and meet growing consumer expectations for healthy local products that contribute to sustainable food systems.

The project seeks to find neglected species and varieties (NUCs: neglectied underutilised crops), to preserve them by conserving and cultivating them, and finally to add value to them so that they end up on consumers' plates. Basically, the aim is to avoid losing our biological heritage, to ensure our survival thanks to biodiversity, and to support food autonomy and sovereignty.
