Get ready to dive into the festive spirit and join us on Saturday 7 March for a Carnival that's sure to make waves!
From 2pm in Giberville, the festivities kick off around the "Les Mains d'Or" media library, the "AGLAE" leisure centre and the "Jean Ferrat" market hall.
At the media library, youngsters can have their faces painted before having their photo taken in the outdoor HappyCombi. Under the covered playground, artists from the Max et Maurice company will be teaching trapeze and wire, while librarians will be offering arts and crafts, book fishing and aquatic music in the activity room. If you're feeling peckish, volunteers from the Espace habitant and the Comité des fêtes will be selling crêpes and drinks in the courtyard. The leisure centre will be looking like an Aquaparc, with water games for all: "Slash Attack", "Joutes Navales", "Gouttes sensorielles" or "Tableau Marin", a cascade of laughter is guaranteed. Outside, activity leaders from Ferme d'Amélie will be leading pony rides for children aged 2 to 8.
From 2.30pm, in the courtyard of the media library, artists from the Tisseurs de Brume company will be performing their stilt-walker show "Les Nomades d'Alanis", before giving way to musicians from the group "Les Forbans" for a dance concert of sea chanteys scheduled for 3.30pm in the "Jean Ferrat" hall.
Around 5pm, the crazy musicians of the Batucada "Fêlés de la Caisse" and the brass band "Right on Brass Band" will open the traditional parade of residents with a musical cascade. They will be joined by the heirs of Atlantis "Les Nomades d'Alanis", the artists of "La Forge des Bulles" and groups formed by local associations: volunteers from the Comité des Fêtes and the AGLAE association. All of them will accompany His Majesty Carnival until he is set ablaze in the field next to the church. The Comité des Fêtes will be offering everyone hot chocolate and wine to round off this wonderful day around the fire.
So mark your calendars and let's get the party started!
