An exhibition devoted to Musidora, a pioneer of French cinema, will be on show from 15 to 21 May 2026 at the Galerie Delobel in Ouistreham. Marie-Claude and Marie-Joëlle Cherqui, Musidora's great-nieces, have collected a number of original documents to illustrate her work, and will be exhibiting their own creations inspired by the famous silent film icon. Original documents and photographs from the Cinémathèque Française will also be on display, as she worked passionately for the institution until her death in 1957, alongside Henri Langlois, its founder and a great admirer of Musidora. This exhibition will trace the many talents of the famous 'Vamp', who was an actress, director, writer, singer, dancer, painter and sculptor. Musidora, a close friend of Colette and a muse of the Surrealists, was nicknamed "the tenth muse", the muse of the seventh art. Over the last fifteen years, many of her films have been rediscovered, restored and screened at major film festivals.
