Exposition de Marie-Joelle Cherqui

The artist presents an exhibition entitled "Orée".
The Orée exhibition will take place at the Galerie Delobel in Ouistreham, from Friday 10 to Thursday 16 April 2026, from 10am to 7pm. Marie-Joëlle Cherqui, a visual artist based in Ouistreham, will be presenting a series of works inspired by textiles.
"I haven't used textiles in my plastic research. This series of works evokes the structure of fabrics, by assembling elements to form a whole, a kind of painted fabric. Everything is painted on different papers, which are then glued to canvas. This is the only textile I use. My works suggest fabric, but they are painted on canvas, paper, cardboard, gold leaf... with interlacing, like embroidered bark, with fine projections traced with a comb, vertical rhythms like tree trunks aligned at the edge of the woods and horizontal borders, gold, bronze and coloured. I chose glue and gold as the main mediums for this series of works, entitled Orée.
