Since 2005, the opportunity to work with Zwy Milshtein (a famous Franco-Moldavian painter-engraver-author) has arisen several times. We have staged exhibitions showcasing his work, and a major show (Le Chant du chien) with a dozen artists on stage, which has been performed some fifty times and played as far afield as Europe. We staged some of these chronicles in a sort of cabaret in the bar of the Hotel Akdov, and even ran a summer workshop with him. Zwy died in 2020, and we had prepared a few short interventions to pay tribute to him at La Scala (Paris) and then at the Théâtre des Célestins (Lyon). Unfortunately, confinement prevented us from performing them. We must make up for this outrage.
Under the impetus of Lara Milshtein, his daughter, we are going to set to music and stage a series of the master?s committed, poetic or autobiographical texts. Thanks to her, we will be able to present some of his paintings.
