The Caen la Mer destination is committed to promoting sustainable and quality labels throughout its territory.
Green Destinations : Platinum Award
After initially achieving Silver certification in 2024, with a compliance rate of 77%, the destination reached 92% in 2026 and achieved Platinum certification, demonstrating strong momentum and a reinforced collective commitment.
This label, awarded by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, certifies the destination’s sustainable management in terms of governance, nature conservation, resource management, cultural preservation, social well-being and corporate commitment.
It offers a response to the challenges of climate change and encourages coordination between stakeholders to promote responsible tourism.
Communes with a welcoming spirit
The municipalities of Caen and Ouistreham are classified by the State as tourist resorts, and Colleville-Montgomery as a tourist municipality.
