Biscuiterie Jeannette, founded in 1850, is Normandy’s oldest biscuit factory. Specialising in the production of madeleines since 1930, it carries on a tradition of artisanal craftsmanship and shares a rich history, closely linked to that of the region. It has weathered the trials of time, surviving the Second World War before experiencing a boom in the 1980s, followed by difficulties that led to its liquidation in 2013. Thanks to the efforts of its staff and a crowdfunding campaign, Biscuiterie Jeannette reopened its doors in 2015.
Today, it offers premium madeleines, made with local ingredients: Isigny AOP butter, fresh free-range eggs and flour from the Manche. Since 2020, it has expanded its range to include cakes and financiers.
Throughout the summer, Biscuiterie Jeannette welcomes you for a free guided tour (booking required), offering the chance to take home these iconic specialities at factory prices. Discover its history, watch the production process from the viewing platform and sample madeleines fresh from the oven.
