On the Colleville-Montgomery side, there is the statue of Bill Millin who, respecting an old Scottish tradition, accompanied Lord Lovat and the troops to the sound of his bagpipes, even at the height of the fighting! His bagpipe is now on display at the Pegasus Memorial Museum.
