The SMN Memory and Heritage Association invites you to join a guided tour following in the footsteps of the Société Métallurgique de Normandie through the industrial town of Le Plateau. During this two-hour walk, local residents will draw on archive material to recount their experiences of life in the former industrial town, which was characterised by a paternalistic management style. It is also an opportunity to reflect on the long-term preservation and passing on of this heritage, which is under threat and needs to be revitalised and reimagined…
Please note that as part of the ‘Journées du Matrimoine’ organised by HF+ Normandie, the history of women will also be highlighted during this tour.
Duration: 2 hours. Detailed information, timings and meeting points will be provided upon registration.
